Interacting with hospital staff, Yadav said the Integrated AYUSH Hospital, inaugurated on March 4, 2022, is the country's third such facility, reflecting the government's focus on holistic healthcare.

Dimapur: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav visited the AYUSH Hospital at Chedema in Kohima district on Friday to review the functioning of the hospital.

Interacting with doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, and other officials, Yadav noted that the Integrated AYUSH Hospital, inaugurated on March 4, 2022, is the third such hospital in the country, reflecting the government’s commitment to promoting holistic and integrated healthcare.

He recalled the hospital’s significant contribution during the COVID-19 pandemic, when it served as Nagaland’s first designated COVID-19 hospital and provided critical healthcare services during one of the most challenging periods in recent history.

Yadav appreciated the dedicated healthcare professionals for their commitment to delivering quality healthcare services. He commended the efforts of the entire hospital team in making the institution a centre of healing and hope for the people of Nagaland.

Speaking on the importance of the AYUSH system, Yadav said India’s traditional systems of medicine complement modern healthcare by emphasising preventive care, holistic wellness, and healthy living.

He observed that with growing awareness of integrated healthcare, institutions like the Integrated AYUSH Hospital have an increasingly important role in providing accessible, affordable, and patient-centric healthcare services.

Yadav said the review meeting provided an opportunity to assess the hospital’s achievements, understand its challenges, and discuss measures to further strengthen its infrastructure, services, and outreach.

He urged all stakeholders to continue working with dedication, innovation, and compassion so that the institution evolves into a model of excellence in integrated healthcare.

During the review, hospital officials presented an overview of the 50-bed Integrated AYUSH Hospital, which serves eight surrounding villages.

The review also highlighted the hospital’s outreach initiatives, including free health camps, awareness programmes in neighbouring villages, radio talks promoting the AYUSH system of healthcare, and the observance of important occasions.

Officials further apprised the Governor of the institution’s training and academic activities, including yoga instructor training programmes, medicinal plant workshops, Prakriti assessments for security personnel, educational exposure visits, and internship programmes for students.
