Nagaland Governor, P B Acharya, has announced to contribute Rs one lakh from his salary towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in aid of the people affected by incessant rainfalls for the last few weeks that resulting in major natural disaster.

According to a Raj Bhavan statement, Acharya has appealed to all the citizens of the State to donate generously towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
He also appealed to the people to stand in solidarity with the distressed and affected people in the State and be part of the effort to support them in this hour of crisis.
Earlier, the Governor, through the Assam Rifles, had arranged for essential commodities to be distributed to the needy at Kiphire district.
Meanwhile, the second batch of students, who were studying outside Kiphire district and remained stranded due to landslide, were on Monday sent back to their places of study.
Around 16 Tata Sumos carrying 40 students and patients were stranded at Longmatra town under Kiphire due to bad road condition.
Kiphire district has been completely cut off for almost a week owing to heavy landslides in multiple places following heavy rains.
