Dimapur: Reiterating the importance of youth empowerment, Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav on Monday stressed the need for skill development, entrepreneurship, vocational training, tourism, and agriculture-based industries to address unemployment in the state.
He also underscored the importance of quality education, infrastructure development, unity, and lasting peace for the progress of Nagaland.
Interacting with student beneficiaries of the post-matric scholarship scheme for ST students during a special interactive session held under the โJanjatiya Garima Utsavโ at Lok Bhavan in Kohima, Yadav spoke about the significance of the occasion commemorating the legacy of tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda, who stood for courage, dignity, and justice for tribal communities.
Stating that education is the key to empowerment and progress, he described the post-matric scholarship scheme as an important initiative supporting deserving students in pursuing higher education and achieving their aspirations.
He expressed satisfaction that many students from Nagaland are benefiting from the scheme.
Encouraging the students, Yadav urged them to work hard, remain disciplined, and make full use of the opportunities available to them while staying connected to the rich values and traditions of their tribal heritage.
He further stated that for the vision of a developed India to become a reality, every citizen, including youngsters, doctors, engineers, technocrats, students, and people from all walks of life, must demonstrate greater excellence and dedication in the discharge of their duties.
He expressed confidence that the youth of Nagaland would continue to excel and contribute positively towards transforming the nation into a developed India.
