Scoring a new milestone in Nagaland, Dimapur district has achieved 100% first dose Covid-19 vaccination in both urban and rural areas.

This was informed by Nagaland adviser to sericulture, excise and minority affairs, who is also the Dimapur District Planning and Development Board chairman, Zhaleo Rio at a meeting of the board here on Tuesday.

Rio expressed appreciation to the members of the Dimapur District Task Force (DTF) for achieving 100% first dose vaccination in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Chairing the meeting, he conveyed that the High Power Committee on Covid-19 during its meeting in Kohima had commented on the achievements made by Dimapur DTF, frontline workers, officers and all line departments for the successful vaccination drive in the district.

He requested the DTF and the officers to motivate and educate the public on the benefits of vaccination to ensure that the public get both doses of vaccination.

Reviewing the last meeting minutes, the board recommended and approved the proposal for establishing a paramedical institute by Life Square Society at Neiphruolie Colony, Chumukedima village, based on the satisfactory joint verification report conducted by Seithekiema extra assistant commissioner, gaon burhas (village heads) and Dimapur chief medical officer. It also approved the proposal for changing the nomenclature of Excel Children School to Dzuvian School.

The other agendas of the meeting included the formation of district-level screening and verification committee for society registration cases, adoption of Vihokhu village as a model village, change of nomenclature of Logos School to Footprints Academy and naming of the playground at Nihokhu extra assistant commissioner headquarters.
