He said five extortion cases with arrest of seven people, two kidnapping and abduction cases with arrest of two, two theft cases with arrest of one and three cases under Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act with arrest of three were registered during the period.

In the same period, one case under Arms Act with arrest of one and one case (grievous hurt) with arrest of two was also registered, he added.

Aye said besides enforcing Covid19 SOP within the district, Dimapur Police has also been simultaneously carrying out intensive inter-state border patrolling, especially in Niuland/Dhansiripar and West Zone areas.

Armed mobile escorts are being provided to transport trucks while intensive mobile/foot patrolling has been deployed round the clock for prevention and detection of crime to ensure public safety, Aye further said.
