Dimapur: Nagaland’s Dimapur Police Commissionerate has imposed restrictions on the operation of drones and remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) within its jurisdiction on January 26 to strengthen security arrangements for the Republic Day celebrations.
Dimapur Commissioner of Police Aotula T. Imchen, in an order issued under Rule 24 of the Drone Rules, 2021, on Thursday, said that areas within a radius of two kilometres around selected locations have been declared as “red zones” (no-fly zones).
The restrictions will remain in force from 2 am to 6 pm on the day.
The locations declared as red zones include Dimapur DDSC Stadium, Chumoukedima Samaguting Stadium, and Niuland Public Ground.
During the stipulated period, no person will be allowed to operate any drone or RPA in these areas without prior permission from the competent authority, the order stated.
