Nagaland has registered 87 new COVID19 positive cases on Wednesday, taking the stateโ€™s COVID19 positive cases to 3,118.

Confirming the news of the detection of new positive cases, Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom in his latest tweet on the stateโ€™s COVID19 status said the new cases have been detected out of 614 samples tests.

โ€œUpdate! 87 new +ve cases of COVID-19 have been detected out of 614 samples tested,โ€ health minister Phom tweeted.

The health minister informed that of the new cases, Dimapur has reported 48 cases, 35 cases have been reported from Kohima, 3 have been detected in Zunheboto and 1 case has been detected in Wokha.

Informing that โ€œnecessary contact tracingโ€ has been activated, the health minister has urged the people of the state to wear masks, keep distance and stay safe.

Sharing the latest data on COVID19 status, the COVID19 war room, Nagaland said the stateโ€™s total positive cases stand at 3,118.

The COVID19 war room, Nagaland, in its data prepared on August 11 said the stateโ€™s death tally stood at 8.

But after 24 hours, as per its latest data released by the COVID19 war room, the stateโ€™s death tally now stands at 7.

The principal secretary to home, Abhijit Sinha in his briefing on Nagalandโ€™s COVID19 status in the evening claimed there were only 7 deaths due to infection in the state so far.

Nagaland currently has 2,119 active COVID19 cases.

A total of 985 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have been discharged from various hospitals or Covid Care Centres across the state after they tested negative.
