Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio has assigned ministers and advisors with the districts to monitor implementation of effective measures for prevention and control of COVID-19 in the State.

Deputy chief minister Y Patton and advisor Mhathung Yanthan has been assigned to take charge of Wokha district; minister G Kaito Aye and advisor Khehovi Yepthomi (Zunheboto); minister C M Chang and advisor H Haying (Tuensang); minister Neiba Kronu and advisor Kazheto Kinimi (Phek).

Minister S Pangnyu Phom and advisor Imnatiba (Longleng); minister P Paiwang Konyak and  advisor Pohwang (Mon); minister Jacob Zhimomi and advisor Zhaleo Rio (Dimapur); minister Tongpang Ozukum and advisor Neikiesalie Nicky Kire (Kohima); minister Temjen Imna Along and advisor Namri Nchang ( Peren); minister V Kashiho Sangtam and advisor K.Tokugha Sukhalu (Kiphire) and minister Metsubo Jamir and advisor Longrineken (Mokokchung).

Meanwhile, the state Home department has informed that the situation concerning supply of all the essential commodities and goods including petroleum, oil and lubricants continue to remain normal, according to reports.

The Home department, through an official bulletin, has advised everybody to cooperate and abide by the containment orders issued.

Reminding people to stay indoors and come out only for buying essential goods, the department has asked the people to maintain distancing even while at shops.

Further, the department informed that only one person from a family should go out for shopping from nearest shops.

Stating that the district administration and police were regularly monitoring the situation, the department cautioned that strict action would be taken against anyone found indulging in non-essential travel. It said that a state control room has also been set up for the same.

The Food and Civil Supplies (F&CS) department has said that it was working hard to ensure availability of food grains to NFSA beneficiaries and smooth supply of petroleum products including petrol, diesel and LPG throughout the State.

Meanwhile, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has set up its state emergency operation centre at Keiziekhe in Kohima from Wednesday.
