Nagaland chief minister re-allocates portfolios

The Nagaland chief minister has re-allocated the portfolios and the business of the government.

According to a statement issued by the state government, the re-allocation of portfolios is in partial modification of the Cabinet Secretariat Notification, issued on July 23, 2019.

The Nagaland government has re-allocated the portfolios and the business of the government under the provisions of Rule 5(1) of the Rules of Executive Business of the Government of Nagaland to Temjen Imna Along.

Minister Along has been allocated Higher Education and Tribal Affairs.

In another notification, the Nagaland chief minister has assigned Technical Education and Election portfolios to Medo Yhokha, advisor to chief minister.

“This arrangement would help utilize the vast and practical experience of the Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly for the benefit of public at large,” the government statement said.

“The Advisor will render his advise on matters that are referred to them by the concerned department for their views/suggestions before the issue is put up to the concerned Minister in charge for decision,” it added.

However, the advisor will not be eligible for any pay, salary, emoluments, remuneration or any perks/advantages of any kind, from the government of Nagaland other than what is normally admissible to them as members of Nagaland Legislative Assembly through the Assembly Secretariat.
