Miss Nagaland contest postponed due to civilian killing at Mon

The Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN) has decided to postpone the Miss Nagaland contest scheduled to be held on December 10.

The organizers on Tuesday said that they have decided to call off the event to stand in solidarity with the Konyak community.

The beauty pageant is postponed till further notice. A total of 12 contestants are vying for the title of Miss Nagaland this year.

On Saturday eight villagers from Nagaland’s Mon district were killed in an ambush set up by the Army’s 21 Para SF.

The Army later said the ambush was set after a tip about insurgents’ movement.
