As the COVID-19 situation in Nagaland continues to be precarious, the State Government has decided to extend the ongoing lockdown in the State till June 30.
The decision to extend lockdown in Nagaland was taken by the State Government’s High-Power Committee for COVID-19 in a meeting on Wednesday.

The decision of the HPC’s to extend lockdown in the State was informed by the panel’s spokesperson – Mmhonlumo Kikon.
Kikon said: “The HPC in a meeting today has decided to extend the Lockdown till June 30.”

“Situation is Improving but we are still not out of the woods. Positivity rate is declining but still requires to be below 5 % and we need to vaccinate more than 50% of the population,” Kikon added.
Mmhonlumo Kikon further informed that respective District Task Forces have been directed to work out relaxations or restrictions required as per the local situation.
“We acknowledge the inconvenience faced by the people but given the circumstances we have to continue with the lockdown for now,” Kikon said.
