Kohima College, Kohima will host the Inter Government College Olympic 2019 from May 2 to May 4, 2019.
According to information, the theme of the event is ‘Bridging the Gaps’.
The Inter Government College Olympic 2019, to be organized by the Higher Education department of Nagaland, will be held at Kohima College, Kohima.
Nagaland higher & technical education minister will attend the inaugural function as the chief patron.
The welcome address will be delivered by Dr Watijungshi, convenor, planning committee & additional director.
While Dinesh Kumar, commissioner & secretary, higher & technical education, Nagaland will greet the gathering, the oath -taking will be conducted by Er. Hotovi Ayemi, member, planning committee & Nagaland Olympic Association official.
The programme will be compered by Sunjeminla.
On the inaugural day at 6:30 am, 13 government colleges will take part in the Olympic race from Old MLA Hostel Junction to Kohima College.
While the inaugural programme, to be chared by Thinuokhrienuo Tseikhanuo, principal in-charge of Kohima College, Kohima, will be flagged off by Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire, advisor to rural development department, Nagaland.
The participating colleges are Dimapur Government College; FazI Ali College; Kohima College, Kohima; Kohima Science College; Mount Tiyi College; Peren Government College; Pfutsero Government College; Phek Government College; Sao Chang College; Wangkhao Government College; Yingli College; Zisaji Presidency College and Zunheboto Government College.
The events include athletic tracks and fields: 100 Metre Race, 200 Metre Race, 400 Metre Race, 800 Metre Race, 1500 Metre Race, 3000 Metre Race, Relay Race, Javelin, Discus, Shot Pot, High Jump and Long Jump.
The outdoor events are Football and Volley Ball and the indoor events are Badminton and Table Tennis.
On the second day of the event (May 3), a musical night will be organized from 6:30 pm to 8 pm at Kohima College.
The welcome address will be delivered by Dr. Anungla Aier, director of higher education, Nagaland while Nagaland governor P.B. Acharya will attend the programme as the guest of honour.
The event will conclude on May 4, 2019.
The closing ceremony will be held at 3 pm at Kohima College ground.
Er. Zale Neikha, advisor to youth resources & sports, Nagaland will attend the closing ceremony as the guest of honour.
The programme will be compered by Dr. Avinuo Kire.
The vote of thanks will be delivered by Moanungla Kevichusa, head of department, English and senior-most faculty member of Kohima College, Kohima.
