Nagaland Governor RN Ravi on Monday called for a quantum improvement in infrastructure and healthcare delivery system in the State.
Ravi hoped that in the next two years when the country would be celebrating the 75th year of Independence, people of the State will have access to better health services.
The Governor said this while felicitating Dr. Yingngam Wangnaolim, who secured the third position in masters in obstetrics and gynecology from Kerala University of Health Sciences in 2020, at Dr. Imkongliba Ao hall at Raj Bhavan in Kohima.
Saying that human resource is the most precious resource of society, Ravi underscored the imperative of quality education and quality healthcare services for building a quality human resource.
He hailed Wangnaolim for her achievement through resolve and hard work.
He said coming from a modest background, she has proved with determination and hard work that nothing is impossible. He called her an inspiration for the youth of the State.
Ravi advised her to be a mentor to the aspiring students of the State. She should visit high schools, especially in the rural areas, meet students and inspire them by sharing her experience, he stated.
Sharing her journey to becoming a doctor, Wangnaolim expressed gratitude to the Governor for felicitating her. “Nothing is more fulfilling than getting recognition for our achievements in our lives. Today is one such day in my life,” she said.
In his appreciation speech, health and family welfare minister S. Pangnyu Phom thanked Wangnaolim for making the State proud.
