Nagaland Governor RN Ravi pays tribute to Dr. Imkongliba Ao at his statue at Raj Bhavan in Kohima on Monday.

Nagaland Governor RN Ravi paid rich tribute to Dr. Imkongliba Ao, the founding father of Nagaland State, on the eve of his 62nd martyrdom day which falls on August 24.

“A visionary leader with extraordinary courage and strategic foresight Dr. Ao pulled the Nagas out of bloody chaos, united the Naga family in one politico-administrative entity – the Nagaland State, the 16th State of the Indian Union, – with uniquely special constitutional dispensation safeguarding the identity and interests of the Nagas and laid a rock solid foundation for the future of its people according to their own genius,” Ravi said in his message.

On the occasion, he urged everyone to commit to build a Nagaland of Dr. Ao’s dream of a happy and prosperous state in which the youths, free from every kind of fear, apprehension or inhibition, will blossom in an eco-system of unlimited opportunities for growth and fulfillment
