Nagaland governor RN Ravi on Monday extended greetings to the people of the State, especially to the Chakhesang Naga community, on the occasion of Thüni festival.
In his message, Ravi wished everybody good health, peace and prosperity on this occasion.
He said Thüni is a thanksgiving festival for a bountiful harvest and good health. It promotes significant virtues such as equity, friendship, peace, purity and originality, he stated.
“As we celebrate this beautiful festival, let us continue to be steadfast in following Covid-19 protocols,” Ravi appealed.
Thuni is a festival of the new harvest and is celebrated in all the Poumai villages in Nagaland with pomp and gaiety from January 5 every year and continues for several days.
It is a time when people offer their gratitude to the supreme God for blessing them with a bountiful harvest and good health all throughout the year.
Thüni is also a time to pray for God’s blessings for another bounteous harvest and beseeching a healthy life.
