Nagaland U-15 girls’ football team represented India as a leading team in the opening ceremony of Gothia Cup held at Gothenburg in Sweden.

Nagaland youth resources and sports department advisor Zale Neikha on Tuesday shared a video of the team.

The video showed the Naga girls representing the India team in their traditional attires.

Neikha, who shared the video on his official Twitter handle stated, “Naga girls team with traditional attires represented our great nation INDIA as a leading team amongst 75 countries in the opening ceremony of Gothia Cup tournament held at Gotgenburg Sweden”.

The SC Nagaland U-15 Girls Football team had departed to Sweden last week to play for Gothia Cup.

There were a total of 22 members including Zeikha in the team.

The opening ceremony of the Gothia Cup was held on July 14.

The SC Nagaland U-15 Girls’ Football team had qualified to represent the country in the Gothia Cup.

The Gothia Cup is being held from July 14 to July 20.

Gothia Cup is the world’s largest and most international youth football tournament. Each year, around 1700 teams from 80 nations take part and they play 4500 games on 110 fields.

The tournament was started by the football associations BK Hacken in 1975.
