Former Nagaland minister Dr T Myinthungo Lotha passed away at the district hospital in Wokha on Thursday.
He breathed his after a brief illness at the age of 68 years.

Dr T M Lotha was a medical doctor and joined the government service as an assistant Surgeon in 1977.
He was also popularly known Dr TM Lotha.
He later joined active politics and contested during the sixth general election of the State in November, 1987 as an NNDP candidate from 38th Wokha Assembly Constituency but lost.

He contested again from the same constituency on an NPC ticket in general election held in January 1989 and got elected.
Later he was became the minister for Housing and Fire Services.
After a decade, in 2003 he won again from the same constituency and was later became minister for Home and Health.
After losing yet another term in 2008 he was elected from the same constituency in 2013 on an NCP ticket.
During his lifetime, Dr T M Lotha also served as the president of Naga Students’ Union, Assam Medical College 1974; secretary, Naga Students’ Union, Dibrugarh 1975; president, Student Christian Movement, Assam Medical College 1975; Peace Mission Member, Naga Hoho 1996; executive member, Lotha Hoho 1994-2003; chairman, Political Affairs Committee 2008-2012.
