Nagaland registered a total of 70 new Covid19 positive cases in the last 24 hours.
With these new cases, the total number of positive cases in Nagaland now stands at 8,894.
In his briefing on Thursday evening, principal secretary (home) Abhijit Sinha said of the 70 new cases, 46 were recorded in Dimapur, 19 in Kohima, three in Mon, one each in Longleng, and Zunheboto.

He said out of the 8,894 positive cases, 7,019 people have recovered so far while the total active cases stood at 1,758. There have been 29 deaths due to the virus.
As per the severity of symptoms 1,668 active cases are asymptomatic, 56 mild, 20 are moderate and on oxygen, four are severe and on oxygen, six are critical and on oxygen and four on ventilator.
Sinha said of the 8,894 positive cases, 3,867 are from the armed forces/ police, 1,648 returnees, 2,946 traced contacts and 433 frontline workers.
He added that a total of 61,242 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 60,194 samples have been received. In addition, a total 33,337 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 33,270 samples have been received.
Through rapid antigen test, 3,834 samples have been tested.
