Nagaland’s COVID-19 tally rose to 4,107 with the detection of 41 new cases on Friday.

Of the 41 cases, 23 are in Dimapur, 17 in Kohima and one in Phek, principal secretary (home) Abhijit Sinha said in his routine briefing.

He said active surveillance and contact tracing is also in progress to prevent further spread of the infection.

Out of the 4,107 positive cases detected so far, 3,351 people recovered till date while 736 are active cases. There were eight deaths due to the virus.

As per the severity of symptoms, 730 active cases are asymptomatic and six active cases are mild, Sinha said.

He said of the 4,107 positive cases, 1,740 cases are from the armed forces, 1,289 from returnees, 302 cases of frontline workers and 776 of traced contacts.

A total of 948 persons are presently under facility quarantine, Sinha added.
