The Covid-19 positive cases in Nagaland rose to 956 with the detection of 40 more cases on Friday.

In his routine briefing, principal secretary (home) Abhijit Sinha said as on Friday, the total number of positive cases in the state stood at 956.

He said all the positive persons are undergoing treatment at the designated COVID-19 hospitals and Covid-19 care centres in the state. He added active surveillance and contact tracing is in progress to prevent further spread of the infection.

Out of the 956 positive cases, the total active cases are 551 while 405 patients have recovered. As per the severity of symptoms, 548 active cases are asymptomatic and two active cases are mild while one active case is moderate.

Till Friday, Sinha said 17,570 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 17,229 samples have been received.

Besides, 11,727 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat. Out of this, 10,880 samples tested negative and 349 tested positive which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.

Altogether 2,922 persons are presently under facility quarantine in the state.
