Outgoing Governor of Nagaland – RN Ravi has said that he is confident that the people of Nagaland will stand for peace and prosperity.

In his last message to the people of Nagaland as the Governor of the state, RN Ravi also urged the youths embrace “truth and peace as against deceit and violence”.

“I am confident that the people of Nagaland will continue to stand for peace and prosperity,” RN Ravi said in his message.

Ravi added: “I urge the youths to embrace truth and peace as against deceit and violence. The future of this state is in your hands. Please build the Nagaland of your dreams.”

RN Ravi was recently transferred to Tamil Nadu as Governor of the state.

The huge trust deficit between Ravi and Naga insurgent groups reportedly led to his exit from the northeastern state.

Ravi was crossing swords with the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muivah) for the last two years.

In 2019, RN Ravi was appointed as Governor of Nagaland along with his previous responsibility of being interlocutor of the Naga peace talks.

In fact, the Naga peace talks began to derail in early 2020 when NSCN-IM leader T Muivah refused to hold any dialogue with R N Ravi following a dispute over the framework agreement signed in 2015.

Ravi has also been removed as interlocutor for the Naga peace talks.

The Centre had appointed Ravi, a 1976 batch IPS officer from the Kerala cadre, as Naga peace talk interlocutor in 2015.

Despite a Framework Agreement for Naga Peace Accord having been signed in 2015, the government has not been able to finalise the Accord.
