Assam Rifles apprehends NSCN (K) overground worker in Nagaland

The Mon battalion of Assam Rifles apprehended an overground worker of NSCN (K) – Hangang (33), son of Eha, of Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh, at Mon town in Nagaland on Monday, PRO, Assam Rifles said in a release on Tuesday.

The release said based on specific inputs regarding presence of underground cadre in Mon town, the Assam Rifles launched an operation and apprehended the overground NSCN (K) cadre.

During interrogation, Hangang confessed his involvement as an overground worker of the NSCN (K) and had been collecting money in Mon town on behalf of the outfit. He was planning to move to Changlang for depositing the collected money, the release further stated.

He has been handed over to Mon police for further investigation.
