Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput donated Rs 1.25 crore to Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, as the state has been grappling with floods.
Sushant, who acted in the biopic on cricketer MS Dhoni and several other superhit films, met Rio in Kohima and handed over a cheque for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Around 50,000 people have been affected by the floods and the state government has estimated that Rs 800 crore would be needed to help the region.
The Nagaland CM had written a plea for help on social media. On Tuesday, he tweeted that he was “moved at the kind gesture made by @itsSSR and his team towards #NagalandFloods and willingness to help #Nagaland at this crucial hour. Your contribution is encouraging and I hope to see the rest of the nation come forward selflessly, to #DonateForNagaland.”
