The Nagaland government on Thursday said action will be taken against those found not wearing masks. A penalty of Rs 200 will be imposed every time the offence is committed, the government said in a notification.
It said many people are being found not wearing masks in public places in violation of the directives issued by the government for preventing the spread of Covid-19 in the State.

The assistant sub-inspector and above level officers of police and assistant road safety and enforcement inspector and above level officers of the Transport Department have been tasked to enforce the order.
The government also directed all the district task forces to take urgent steps to ensure enforcement of the directive for wearing masks in public places and for taking action against those violating the order.

All the district task forces have been directed to submit daily reports to the stale level war room on the number of persons found not wearing masks in public places by the enforcement agencies and the total fine collected from the violators.
Meanwhile, the State recorded 25 new Covid cases and 70 recoveries today. There was no casualty due to the infection in the last 24 hours.
The Health and Family welfare Department said Dimapur recorded 10 fresh cases, Kiphire 1, Kohima 7, Longleng 1, Mokokchung 2, Mon 1, Phek 1 and Wokha 2.
Of the 70 recoveries, Dimapur registered 21, Kiphire 1, Kohima 18, Mokokchung 10, Mon 1, Phek 7, Tuensang 1, Wokha 3 and Zunheboto 8.
