Abu Mehta, the adviser to Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio has been appointed as the associate vice president of Athletics Federation of India.
Abu Mehta will continue to serve as the associate VP of Athletics Federation of India till 2024.

“On behalf of the Executive Council of Athletics Federation of India, I am pleased to noominate you as Associate Vice President of Athletics Federation of India for the term upto 2024,” a letter from AFI president Adille J Sumariwalla to Abu Mehta read.
He added: “This nomination is as per the clause XIII of AFI constitution.”

Meanwhile, Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio has congratulated Abu Mehta for his appointment to the post.
