A delegation led by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio called on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at his office chambers in New Delhi on Monday, seeking central assistance for various projects including relief work.
As a follow up of an earlier request made to the Prime Minister, the delegation requested the Centre to sanction developmental projects for eastern Nagaland, a press note from CMO media cell stated.
Rio also apprised Rajnath Singh about the damages caused by recent natural calamities, and urged for central assistance and interim aid to mitigate the ongoing relief and restoration works.
Besides this, the delegation also requested for modernization and upgradation of village guards in Nagaland.
Rio further requested Rajnath Singh for sanctioning another helicopter to increase flying hours for Nagaland particularly for far-flung areas of the State.
