Nagaland Governor has summoned the first session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly to meet at the Assembly Hall, Kohima at 9.30 am on March 13.

This was informed by Commissioner  & Secretary, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Benjamin Newmai said in a press release on Saturday.

In another release, the Commissioner & Secretary informed that the election of the Speaker by members of Nagaland Legislative Assembly will be held on March 13.

He said nomination papers can be filed till 12 noon on March 12 and the date of withdrawal has been fixed from 1 pm to 4 pm on the same day.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee held under the chairmanship of Pro-tem Speaker Mmhonlumo Kikon at the Assembly Committee Room finalised the provisional programme for the ensuing first session of the 13th Assembly.

The Committee decided to hold the session from 13th March 13 to 26, Newmai informed in another release.

Business to be taken up during the session are oath/affirmation by members, election of Speaker, proving of majority, if any, address by Governor, obituary references, if any, moving of Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s address, laying of reports/rules, if any, presentation of supplementary demand for grants for the year 2017- 2018, presentation of Budget for 2018 – 2019, laying of statement of Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act (FRBMA), presentation of C&AG report, debate on the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s address, announcement of the Constitution of various financial and non-financial committees by the Speaker and announcement of panel of chairmen.
