Nagaland Governor and Swachh Bharat Mission brand ambassador, P B Acharya convened a review meeting of Swachh Bharat Mission state ambassadors at Raj Bhawan in Kohima on Monday.
According to a press release issued by public relation officer of Raj Bhawan, Acharya appreciated the state ambassadors and the work they have been doing under Swachh Bharat Mission.

He encouraged them to construct public toilets in all their respective districts and stated that public toilets play a key role in community health and individual well-being.
He added that women face a lot of difficulties when public toilets are not available.
Also harping on the importance of rainwater harvesting, the Governor opined that as hill stations face water scarcity during dry season, rainwater harvesting is the need of the hour.

He called on the Swachh Bharat Mission ambassadors to encourage others to take up rainwater harvesting in their respective districts.
On their part, the ambassadors apprised the Governor on the various activities and programmes taken up by them in their respective areas.
They also submitted their reports during the meeting.
