Nagaland Governor, P B Acharya, on Tuesday called upon the student community to empower and serve the society and not just acquire degrees and earn money.
Acharya said this while addressing the awards ceremony of Bharat Scout and Guides at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan in Kohima.

He said the Scouts and Guides movement increase strength and confidence in children when they strive to move forward in their lives to build a better society.
Congratulating the awardees, Acharya said the award was the beginning of empowerment in life to contribute more meaningfully to the society.
Acharya also encouraged the students to bring about development in the State by empowering its people.

He also urged the students to explore entrepreneurship and create jobs along the way for development of Nagaland and asked them to be responsible for the society.
Advisor of Youth Resource and Sports, Zale Neikha said Bharat Scouts and Guides was a social service movement open to all young people in accordance with the purpose and principles.
He expressed confidence that Bharat Scouts and Guides movement in the State would produce ‘respectable, humble and strong-willed’ personalities to take the State forward.
Altogether 34 guides and 21 scouts from Dimapur, Kohima and Mokokchung received the awards on Tuesday.
