Governor of Nagaland, P B Acharya has assured to look into the difficulties faced by the numerous unrecognized villages in Nagaland bordering Myanmar under the Mon district in the State.

The assurance from the State Governor came during a meeting with representatives of Unrecognised Villages and Minority Indigenous Religion, a group fighting for the rights of the people living in the unrecognized villages on Mon district in the state that lies along the Indo-Myanmar border.

The delegation was led by Dr MM Thromwa Konyak.

In the meeting held at the Raj Bhavan in Kohima on Tuesday, the Governor gave a patient hearing to the problems faced by the people living in those areas along the border.

A press note from the public relations officer to the Governor said that Governor Acharya took serious note of the problems and grievances faced by the people living in the concerned areas.

The Governor assured the delegates that he will put the matter up with the concerned authorities for early redressal of their problems and grievances.

Governor Acharya also appealed to various NGOs and charity organizations to open up schools in the border areas so that they may also participate in the development of the State. Governor Acharya also urged upon self help groups to initiate projects of self sustenance  for these people to elevate their economic status.
