Nagaland: First ever Amur Falcon angling competition in Wokha

The first Amur Falcon Angling Competition 2018 is being organized by District Anglers Wokha Nagaland (DAWN) at Tsuza , Doyang  in Wokha district of Nagaland on November 9.

The competition which will be sponsored by the Nagaland government is being organized as a part of the three-day Amur Falcon Conservation Week and Festival to be held from November 8-10.

The competition has exciting prizes on offer for participants.

The prizes will be announced in two categories- Mahasheer Category and General Category.

Under the Mahasheer Category, the five best participants will be awarded with cash prizes of Rs 30000, Rs 25000, Rs 20000, Rs 15000 and Rs 10000 respectively.

Under the General Category, the five best participants will be awarded with cash prizes of Rs 30000, Rs 20000, Rs 10000, Rs 8000 and Rs 6000 respectively.

Also, the next ten best participants will be awarded with exciting gift hampers.

Other exciting prizes include the 1st Catch of the Competition, Discipline Angler and Lucky Angler.

The Amur Falcon  festival is celebrated is celebrated to showcase wildlife conservation and spread awareness about the amazing birds called Amur Falcons that travel up to 22000 km per year and come from South Eastern Siberia and Northern China.
