Nagaland deputy chief minister Y. Patton dismissed reports that he along with former CM and present Opposition leader T.R. Zeliang met the leadership of NSCN-IM at its headquarters in Camp Hebron recently and termed it as “totally false”.
According to the reports being circulated on the social media, Patton and Zeliang called on the NSCN-IM leadership seeking change of guard in the state.

However, Patton, who is also the BJP Legislature Party leader, said he never thought of such a thing in his wildest of dreams.
“It is an act of some political adversaries to create confusion in the minds of the people as well as to create distrust in the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) fabrics,” Patton said at a press conference here on Tuesday.
“There is no logic in the statement as the state BJP leader has only the central party leaders and high command to consult and take instructions for any political move in the governance of the state,” he added.

Patton also said no sensible person would believe in the fake and fabricated statement made in the social media.
Patton said the alliance between ruling BJP and NDPP is a pre-poll agreement and the formation of PDA government under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio is based on “gentleman agreement”.
The “agreement” stands solid rock till date with a commitment to complete the term successfully, said Patton.
Patton said the allegation of meeting the NSCN-IM leadership along with former CM and present leader of Opposition T.R. Zeliang at Camp Hebron is another figment of imagination of the author of this rumour mill.
“Never had I and TRZ been together in camp Hebron in recent times. Where on earth had this author could bring out such imagination and from which source?”
“And why should I disturb any Naga political group leaders for change of guard when they’re seriously engaged in finding permanent peace and solution for the Nagas,” he said.
Patton said there is no logic on his part or for that matter any legislators to meet Naga political group leaders for change of guard in the state.
