Tamulpur police and Army on Sunday arrested an arms supplier from Nagaland and recovered a 7.65 pistol from his possession from Siknibari under Tamulpur police station in Baksa district.

Based on specific information, Tamulpur Police and Indian army at about 8 AM launched a joint operation on Rangia-Tamulpur-Bhutan international border link road at Siknibari under Tamulpur police station in the district and nabbed the 40-year-old arms dealer.

The arrested arms dealer has been identified as Peirei Hao of Nagwalwa under Pener police station in Heminglwa district of Nagaland.

Police and army recovered a 7.65 pistol from his possession. A case has been registered at Tamulpur police station against Peirei Hao.

According to the statement of Peirei, he bought the pistol from Dimapur and came to sell it in Bhutan border.

“Hao was caught when he was coming towards Tamulpur from Rangia by bus on Sunday morning,” said a police official.

Peirei also stated that he contacted with some a namely Bhaity who wanted to purchase the pistol from him. He also said that he had already sold two pistols in Bhutan border in Baksa

Interrogation is going on at Tamulpur police station for more information.
