Manipur CM N Biren Singh laid the foundation stone of Tamei Police Station on Friday in Tamenglong district. While there he also inaugurated the SBI Tamei branch before and attended a reception at Tamei Bazaar.

N Biren Singh unveiled the foundation stones of R Tale Memorial Women Market, accommodation facilities for doctors, nurses and teachers at Tamei Sub-Divisional Headquarters and Impah village (Tousem Sub-Division) there.

Addressing the gathering the Chief Minister assured people the Government would include funds for the construction of a water supply scheme for Tamei Sub-Division in the State Budget and a Science stream would be introduced in the only Higher Secondary School of the Sub-Division.

10 ambulances would be operated in the interior areas from January 21.  He also announced the opening of a Fire Service Sub-Station in Tamei soon.

Earlier the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari had allocated special package of Rs. 22,000 crores to improve and construct roads in Manipur. The Chief Minister said that road connectivity would be improved including the Highways and IVRs in the State with the special package.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s had said that India cannot develop without developing the North East region. N Biren Singh said that no inclusive development is possible in Manipur without developing the Hill and remote areas of the State, for which the Government is trying to provide facilities in the hill areas.
