The corporate communications team at AOD Digboi took up the task of refurbishing the path leading to oil heritage-the centenary museum.
The team worked with locally available resources and artists to create various progressive works like wall murals. Artistic reflections showcasing nature’s bounties, music, sports, literature has also been engraved all along the road to museum.
The museum- walk-through enhances the visitor experience and supports convenient graphic narration of the oil history and its centenary journey.
Digboi Centenary Museum was set up in 2001 to commemorate 100 years of Digboi refinery. Located adjacent to the Digboi oil-field and built around the famous Oil Discovery Well No 1, Digboi Centenary Museum has become a popular landmark among visitors. The daily footfall to the museum has grown over the years.
The colloquial call of the early oil-drillers “Dig – Boy – Dig” still echoes within the tiny birth-place of India’s Oil Industry.
Efforts of team AOD Digboi for this innovative step to enhance the beauty and glory of oiltown Digboi have been lauded.
