Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary on Friday alleged that Kokrajhar MP Naba Saraniya has misled the people for his vested political interest.

Speaking at the 34th executive meeting of BPF at Harisinga here, Daimary accused Saraniya of misleading the common people for political gains.

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary while addressing the gathering expressed his desire to hold VCDC elections in the line of Panchayat polls.

“We also want to hold elections in VCDC just like Panchayats. The idea of elections in VCDC’s across four districts of BTC has been trickling my mind since long. But we have not received the consent from state government in this regard,” BTC chief Mohillary said.

The BTC chief said that there is no difference with its alliance partner BJP. “In the Panchayat polls, BPF would field its candidates in areas were the party has a good hold,” he said. “BPF will decide its candidates before Rongali Bihu,” Mohilary said.

He further informed that the VCDC chairman would be nominated in an area from a community which has majority population.

He also informed that the BPF would soon organize citizens’ meet in urban and semi-urban areas for political awareness.

The meet chaired by Mohillary was also addressed by several BPF leaders.
