PM Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held an important meeting to discuss the prevailing security issues of the country.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval attended the meeting.

As per reports, PM Modi held discussions on the “futuristic challenges in the defence sector and equipping the armed forces with modern equipment”.

The Prime Minister convened the meeting two days after a drone was used in a bid to attack an Indian Air Force base in Jammu.

Two personnel were injured in the incident.

Earlier in the day, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) took up the investigation into the drone attack on the Jammu Air Force station.

On Monday, India had told the UN General Assembly that the possibility of the use of weaponised drones for terrorist activities against strategic and commercial assets calls for serious attention by the global community.
