The COVID-19 epidemic has brought some good news for the general people.

The Narendra Modi government at the centre is going to give Rs 36,000 annually to the bank account of the common people of the country.

In fact, the Central Government runs a variety of schemes to provide financial assistance to the poor and needy.

Under these, cash or other essential items are also made available directly to the account of the poor, disabled, widows, senior citizens.

The Central Government has announced an economic relief package of Rs 20 lakh crore, a large part of which is for these needy people.

One of these schemes is ‘Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan Dhan Yojana’ (PM-SYM) scheme.

Under this scheme, the government provides financial assistance to the unorganized sector workers like garbage pickers, domestic workers, rickshaw drivers, washermen and agricultural laborers across the country.

Under this scheme, after the age of 60, the government gives a pension of Rs 36,000 annually.

According to one figure, there are more than 42 crore workers in the country who can benefit under this scheme, according to reports.

Apart from this, the government also runs PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana and Small Merchant Pension Scheme.

About 64.5 lakh people have registered for this scheme till Saturday last.

This scheme is for the people of unorganized sector.

To register under this, the age of the applicant should be between 18 years to 40 years.

Also, there should not be more than Rs 15,000 per month.

To register under this, one can find the nearest Common Service Center (CSC) by visiting EPFO India website.

Apart from this, one can also apply in LIC branch office, ESIC, EPFO or by going to the Central and State Government Labour Office.

One must have three things to apply – Aadhaar Card, Saving or Jan Dhan Account and mobile number with IFSC Code.
