Like the previous seven years, this time also ‘Crystal Vision’ of Mangaldai in Darrang district of Assam, a leading local non government organization in association with Darrang District Health Society, Darrang District Administration and Assam State Blood Transfusion Council organized a mobile blood donation camp cum awareness programme on Wednesday commemorating the 72nd Independence Day.
Superintendent of Police of Darrang, Sreejith T, Dr Ajeet of SSB, 37 Bn, Bhabesh Ch Kakati of AJYCP were among the few prominent donors who voluntarily donated blood.

Besides them, around fifty voluntary donors including NGO members, traders, teachers, police and other officials, women, students, SSB Jawans etc donated blood with a unique experience of blood donation in the highly sophisticated special and the lone blood collection vehicle of the State with all modern facilities including air conditioning.
Several prominent persons of Darrang district including Deputy Commissioner of Darrang, Ashok Kr Barman; Sipajhar legislator Binanda Kr Saikia, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bidyut Bikash Bhagawati, Chairman of Mangaldai Municipal Board Pratap Bordoloi, Joint Director of Health Services of Darrang Dr Ruplal Nunisa , SDM&HO of Darrang, Dr Nirmal Kr Beriya and in-charge medical officer, Mangaldai Blood Bank, Dr Daud Ali took part in the day long camp to boost the morale of the voluntary donors and organizers.
In addition to the camp, an awareness cycle rally by students was also taken out through Mangaldai town with support from Minority and Youth Cell of BJP’s Mangaldai unit.

On the other hand, Mangaldai Cycling Community, a newly formed youth body took out a cycle rally for generating patriotism and environment awareness among the younger generation as stated by its office bearer Biswajit Saikia.
