Meanwhile, Dayakumar Tripura, elder brother of the deceased, said he came to know about the incident only on Wednesday morning after police informed them.
But he said that they have no idea about why Jyoti Kumar Tripura had gone to that particular village, which is around 3 kilometres from his home and who had attacked him.
Dayakumar Tripura said, “The deceased is my younger brother and used to live at Minnophapara and I stay at Chindidaspara. The incident has happened at Noyarampara in Raishyabari and the distance is around 3 km from his house. I know nothing why he had gone there or why he was beaten.”
“SPOs (special police officials) informed the police station and we were informed this morning about the body. I know nothing actually what has happened,” added Dayakumar Tripura.
According to sources, Jyoti Kumar Tripura had allegedly entered the cowshed of a resident of the area and when he was about to flee, the members of the house raised an alarm to bring the villagers who caught him and beat mercilessly leading to his death.
Later, the police were informed by the SPOs who have a camp there and Raishyabari police rushed to the spot at around 12 at night and rescued severely injured Jyoti Kumar Tripura and took him to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
