AIZAWL: Anil Shukla, director general of police (DGP) in Mizoram, has inaugurated a comprehensive five-day training program aimed at equipping police personnel with knowledge of three recently introduced criminal laws – Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA).
The central government recently issued three gazette notifications announcing the implementation of these new criminal laws effective from July 1 of the current year.

Addressing the participants, Mizoram DGP Anil Shukla emphasized the importance of understanding these new laws thoroughly and urged all trainees to disseminate the knowledge gained to their colleagues across various units.
The training program, attended by 55 officers from all districts of Mizoram, aims to ensure comprehensive understanding and implementation of the new legal frameworks.
Scheduled to conclude on March 8, the program will cover various aspects of the laws to enable officers to effectively enforce them in their respective jurisdictions.
