The schools and hostels will continue to remain closed in Mizoram until further instructions, the directorate of school education, Mizoram said in an order.

The order has been issued as per the decisions taken by the state executive committee after a meeting on the re-opening of schools, regular classroom teachings for all classes and hostels.

“In continuation of this Offices’ Order even No. dated 3rd December, 2020 and in pursuance to the minutes of the meeting of the State Executive Committee vide No.B. 13012/83/2020-DMR dt. 14/1/2021 regarding re-opening of schools, temporary suspension of regular classroom teachings for all classes shall continue and all hostels shall remain closed until further instructions,” said the order.

The order was issued on Thursday by James Lalrichhana, the director of school education, Mizoram.

The decision has been taken in view of the Covid19 situation in the state.

So far, a total of 4,310 people have been affected by the Covid19 infection.

A total of 4,205 patients have been discharged in Mizoram after their recovery.

The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 9 people in the state so far.

Mizoram currently has 96 active Covid19 cases.
