Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi on Saturday took oath as the Governor of Mizoram in addition to his present responsibility.
He was sworn in as the 19th Governor of Mizoram by the Judge of Gauhati High Court Justice Nelson Sailo at a solemn function held at Raj Bhavan’s Durbar Hall in Aizawl.
It may be noted that Prof Mukhi was sworn in as the Governor of Mizoram following the resignation of the incumbent Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan. The President of India through a warrant at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi has appointed Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi to discharge the functions of the Governor of Mizoram as well.
The swearing in ceremony which was executed by chief secretary Lalnunmawia also saw the presence of chief minister Zoramthanga, Speaker Lalrinliana Sailo, Cabinet ministers, ministers of State, MLAs and other dignitaries.
