More than 98 per cent of the Covid-19 infected patients in Mizoram have already recovered from the deadly virus, an official of the state health department said on Monday.

No Covid-19 case was reported on Monday, he said.

Mizoram has so far reported 4,223 Covid-19 cases, and the number of active cases now stands at 68 as 20 more people recovered on Monday, he said.

Of the 68 active cases, Aizawl district has the highest at 35, followed by Lunglei district, which has 17.

Lawngtlai district has 8 active cases, Serchhip district (4), Kolasib district (3) and Hnahthial district has one active case.

Five districts-Siaha, Champhai, Mamit, Khawzawl and Saitual are Covid-19 free as of now.

According to the official, a total of 4,147  have already recovered, which is 98.20 per cent of the total 4,223 cases, the official said.

The state has so far reported only 8 COvid-19 deaths.

It has also tested 1,81,351 samples till date, including 185 on Sunday.

The state reported its first Covid-19 case on March 24 and the first fatality was reported on October 28.
