Mizoram’s Covid19 positive count crossed 45,000-mark on Tuesday as 937 more people, including 196 children, tested positive for the infection, a health department official said.
The single-day positivity rate in Mizoram was 12.11% as the fresh cases were detected from 7,733 samples, the official said.

The total number of Covid19 cases stands at 45,457, of which 12,434 are active while 32,854 people have already recovered from the infection, including 648 people on Monday, he said.
The Covid19 death toll in the state climbed to 169 as a 47-year-old man from Aizawl succumbed to the infection at Zoram Medical College (ZMC) on Monday night, he said.
A total of 166 new cases were confirmed at the RT-PCR laboratory in ZMC while 699 were detected through Rapid Antigen Test in various districts and the remaining 72 cases were found during TrueNat tests.

The fresh 937 cases were reported from various districts with Aizawl reporting the highest at 600, followed by Kolasib at 103 and Lawngtlai at 74.

Eight patients have travel history and the rest 929 were found to have infected locally, the official said.
Of the 937 patients, 436 have developed symptoms of Covid19, he said.
The recovery rate among Covid19 patients is 72.27% and the death rate is 0.37%, he said.
Mizoram has tested more than 6.89 lakh samples for Covid19 till date.
According to state immunisation officer Dr. Lalzawmi, over 6.4 lakh people have been vaccinated, of which 2 lakh people have received full doses of the Covid19 vaccine till Monday.
Health minister Dr. R. Lalthangliana said Covid19 consignments, which were halted in Delhi for several days, have safely arrived in the state on Monday.
The consignment included 20,000 each of Viral Transport Medium (VTM), RNA extraction kits and RT-PCR kits, he said.
