The COVID-19 scenario in Mizoram continues to worsen with every single passing day.
One more COVID-19 related death has been reported from Mizoram.
With this fresh death case, the State’s COVID-19 death toll has mounted to 22.
On the other hand, Mizoram on Monday reported the highest single-day infection rate of 8.10% as out of 904 samples tested 73 returned positive for COVID-19.

With the new cases, Mizoram’s COVID-19 positive tally increased to 7,623.
Mizoram now has 1,847 active cases.
Of the 73 new cases, Aizawl district reported 54 cases, 8 from Siaha district, 4 from Lawngtlai district, 1 from Lunglei district and 2 cases each were reported from Kolasib, Serchhip and Khawzawl districts.
Eight patients have travel history while the rest 65 were found to have locally infected cases, the official said.

Meanwhile, 86 more people have also recovered from COVID-19 in Mizoram.
This has taken the State’s recovery tally up to 5841.
