Mizoram’s Covid-19 count reached 4,216 on Friday as 12 more people, including eight security personnel, have tested positive for the virus, an official said.
Of the 12 fresh cases, six cases were reported from Lunglei district, five from Aizawl district and one case was reported from Kolasib district, the official said.
While 10 patients have travel history, it is two ascertain how the remaining two patients contracted the virus, he said.
He said that five Border Security Force (BSF) jawans and two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans and an Indian Army personnel were among the newly infected people.
While two patients have developed symptoms of Covid-19, the rest 10 were asymptomatic.
According to the official, the state now has 110 active cases, while 4,098 people have recovered from the virus.
Of the 110 active cases, 66 are in Aizawl district, 22 in Lunglei district, eight in Lawngtlai district, three in Serchhip district, five in Kolasib district, two in Champhai district, three in Hnahthial district and Saitual district has one active patient.
Siaha, Mamit and Khawzawl districts are Covid-19 free as of now.
Mizoram has also reported 8 Covid-19 fatalities so far.
Altogether, 1, 80,520 samples have been tested, including 926 on Thursday.
While the recovery rate is 97.21 per cent and the infection rate is 2.33 per cent.
