The deputy commissioner of Lawngtlai district in Mizoram and District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) jointly organized a ‘Youth Empowerment Summit 2019’ under HIMNA-MADAT (Mizoram Against Drugs, Alcohol & Tobacco) Project at Central YLA Hall, Lawngtlai on Tuesday.
District child protection officer Mary Lalremruati delivered a welcome speech while Lawngtlai sub-divisional officer (Sadar) Rochuangkimi Khenglawt had an inaugural speech elaborating on the objectives of the Youth Empowerment Summit and highlighting about the Project HIMNA-MADAT.

Assistant resident commissioner of Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC)’s Lai House, Aizawl David A Lalhmingchhuana also had a motivational speech.
Two sessions of panel discussion were there, followed by a session of questions and answers and a vote of thanks proposed by Protection Officer (Non-Institutional Care) Zohlimpuii Hmar.
The summit was attended by students within Lawngtlai town.

The first session of panel discussion had a topic ‘Yes, We Can’ discussed by government officers and sportsmen while the second session had a topic ‘Invent Yourself’ discussed by a panel of self-employed youths of Lawngtlai.
