Mizoram on Saturday reported 54 new COVID-19 positive cases including 33 security personnel, taking the state’s tally to 2,103.
Of 545 samples tested at the Zoram Medical College lab in Aizawl, three turned out to be positive, an official statement said.
Out of 121 samples tested at Truenat labs in different districts, 51 people, including 26 BSF personnel and seven Assam Rifles jawans, were diagnosed with COVID-19, the statement said.
All the 533 samples examined through RAgT (rapid antigen test) in different districts tested negative.
Of the 54 fresh cases, three were reported from Aizawl district, 33 from Lunglei, one from Mamit, two from Serchhip and 15 from Lawngtlai, the source said. Barring three civilians from Bawngkawn neighbourhood in Aizawl and seven Assam Rifles personnel, all new patients have travel history.
Of the total 2,103 cases, 344 are active while 1,759 people have recovered from the disease in the State, which has no COVID-19 related fatality so far.
