Mizoram reported a total of 335 new Covid19 positive cases in the last 24 hours.

According to the latest Covid19 bulletin, released by the department of information and public relations, Mizoram, on Monday morning, of the new cases 5 were confirmed during TrueNAT tests.

While a total of 330 cases were found positive for Covid19 during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), no test was conducted at the RT-PCR laboratory of Zoram Medical College (ZMC) Hospital as the lab remained closed on Sunday, being a holiday.

With the new cases, the Covid19 positive tally increased to 27,488 on Monday.

The state’s positivity rate stands at 25.02%, which is alarming, as the new cases were detected from 1,339 samples.

A total of 67 children were among the newly-infected people.

All the new cases were locally-transmitted cases.

Of the 335 patients, 288 patients have developed symptoms of Covid19 and the remaining 47 patients were asymptomatic, said an official.

Out of the total Covid19 positive cases, registered in Mizoram, 15,173 are male and 12,315 are female.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 90 people, who were infected by Covid19, recovered from the disease.

So far, a total of 21,363 people have recovered from the deadly disease.

Mizoram currently has 6,003 active Covid19 cases.

The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 122 people in Mizoram so far.

Of the active Covid19 cases, Aizawl has 3,760 cases, Lunglei – 633, Siaha – 115, Champhai – 37, Kolasib – 580, Serchhip – 23, Lawngtlai – 539, Mamit – 294, Khawzawl – 6, Hnahthial – 4 and Saitual district currently has 12 active cases.

Of the recovered patients in the last 24 hours, 50 patients recovered in Aizawl district, Lunglei-21, Serchhip-7, Lawngtlai-5, Mamit-3, Champhai-2 and 2 patients recovered in Kolasib district.

On Sunday, one patient died of Covid19 infection and 463 people tested positive.

On Sunday, the number of active cases stood at 27,153 and the positivity rate was 9.89%.
